He came to Kg. Kepayang in the year 1909 after Boon Seong died to help manage Boon Juan’s tin mining and other businesses.
After coming
over for more than a year Boon Juan returned to China and assigned Boon Hong to manage all his (Boon Juan’s) tin mining
business.
Besides
overseeing Boon Juan’s business he was engaged in tin mining and the rubber
growing business and commerce.
Unlike his
other brothers he assimilated and actively participated with the community.
Some of the
posts that he was involved on the community included
- - Chairman
of the Perak Hokkien Association

the establishment of Tao Ye School, Kg Kepayang, Xing Yuan She School Ipoh, Poi Lam School,
Ipoh.

ReplyDeleteMy late father Mr. Abdul Majid Khan was a former driver to this family in around early 1960s. I was about 4 years and could recall seein this towkay in person.I have a photograph of his son with my late father with the mansion as background. RIP Sir 💐
